The purpose of this page is to explain Aishiteru's stand on what I have
termed "the Controversy".
Once again, I find myself creating a page that I thought would not be unnessary.
However, I've been receiving more and more troublesome emails that
just clutter up my inbox.
These troublesome emails all have one thing in common.
They all alluded to the Controversy.
The Controversy - for those of you who don't know - revolves around
the exact nature of Trowa's and Cathrine's relationship.
Are Trowa and Cathrine siblings or not?
Are they or are they not related? That is the question.
For the most part, these troublesome emails did the following:
- Politely (and not so politely) informed me that Trowa and
Cathrine are brother and sister. The not so polite ones, go so far
as to insult my intelligence.
- Freely expressed their views - and told me exactly what
they thought of the Trowa x Cathrine pairing - some of which included such
negative words as "nasty" and "disgusting." Honestly, if you don't
have anything nice to say... don't say anything.
Now I have just one thing to say:
OF COURSE, I know that
Trowa and Cathrine are brother and sister!
Jeez! I wasn't born yesterday.
I've been watching Gundam Wing since 1996 - the year after it first aired.
I've seen all 49 TV episodes fansubbed and all 3 OVA episodes fansubbed.
I daresay I've been in the Gundam Wing fandom much longer than
most people.
I am quite aware the official facts.
So I find it quite odd that most people assume, right off the bat, that
I must be ignorant of the facts.
None of the emails I received even considered that I might have reasons
for allowing the Trowa x Cathrine material to remain on Aishiteru, let
alone ask me why.
So why do I allow the Trowa x Cathrine pairing to be hosted on my site?

Let me reiterate.
Aishiteru stands by a policy of tolerant and open minds.
- While you believe that Trowa and Catherine are brother and
sister by birth, you must realize that there is nothing in the 49
episodes of the Gundam Wing TV series that actually supports this.
Sure, Cathrine and Trowa enter into a sibling-like relationship in the
episodes in which Trowa has amnesia. But in the circus, everyone
is your family. This doesn't imply a blood relationship!
- There are many people who have seen only the 49 epsiodes
of the TV series. These people will not be aware that Trowa and Catherine
are brother and sister by birth. So from their point of view, there
is nothing wrong.
- The only official proof that Trowa and Catherine
are brother and sister (as far as I know) is found in an obscure manga
(Episode Zero).
Please note: Not every has access to Episode Zero! I don't.
If the Trowa x Catherine pairing bothers you because of the incest
factor, just do what I do.
Think of it as an Alternative Universe -
In AU, Trowa and Cathrine don't have to be related at all!
I allow the Trowa x
Cathrine material on my website for those people who choose to believe
in this alternate reality.
If that doesn't work, then just avoid the Trowa x Cathrine material
on my website.
Much of it is pretty well labeled so you shouldn't have any problems.
