***BETA READERS***
Current Status: CLOSED
Scheduled to REOPEN: Summer 2002! *Tentative*
Our Purpose
The purpose of the Beta Readers Page is to assist fanfic authors by providing them with beta readers.
You can think of a beta reader as an editor, critic, or proofreader. That is, fanfic authors who like to get feedback and opinions on their work before their work gets "published" will generally let a beta reader critique their rough drafts.
If you are writer struggling with your writing, maybe we can help! Give us a try!
The Vision
This is my vision of how the beta readers page should work:
In an ideal world...
Not everyone can make a good beta reader. So potential-wannabe-beta-readers would be required to take a "test" to qualify.
If someone wants to be a beta reader, then he/she would take a "test". If they pass, then their contact information is posted, as well as some other information about the beta reader, such as the titles of any fics he/she wrote or a short self-description of himself/herself, like "Strict, but fair", etc.
If someone wants to find a beta reader, then he/she would look on the page and read the information about each beta reader. He/she would pick someone (based on the descriptions) and drop them an email.
It would be the begining of a wonderful relationship!
If a beta reader really sucks, or doesn't have time to beta read anymore, then the webmaster would remove the beta reader from the list. So the list of beta readers would be always updated.

Please note that the scenario(s) presented in my vision are for an ideal world.
Unfortunately, we live in the real world. And in the real world, your friendly neighborhood webmistress is much, much too busy to manage this program! To add insult to injury, the last 2 attempts to launch this program were met with spectacular failure. T_T
3rd time's the charm!
I am currently working with 2 other people to bring back the beta readers program. The going is slow, but I want to make sure of all the details (and not repeat the mistakes we made the first two times!) before I try to restart this program.
Please check this page for updates!
